We have become aware of a difference in the presentation of event times between the way that Microsoft Excel handles data and the way that Chorus processes it.
We have only ever seen one instance of the discrepancy and it has come from a handset download file but it has brought the difference to our attention.
Excel will round times to the nearest second for times that have milliseconds. This may mean that on occasion, Excel will round up (e.g. 03 hours 45 minutes 15 seconds 550 milliseconds would become 03 hours 45 minutes 16 seconds).
For consistency, Chorus disregards the milliseconds when they are present in event times, and will only ever display hours, minutes and seconds to avoid showing your events occurring later than they actually did (e.g. 03 hours 45 minutes 15 seconds 550 milliseconds would become 03 hours 45 minutes 15 seconds). Chorus doesn’t store milliseconds in the start date / end date fields; only hours, minutes and seconds.
Any time discrepancy found between rows in Excel and the rows in Chorus will be caused by the above.
